BF6 Players Are Convinced: Missions Are Way Too Hard

The debut of the highly anticipated Battlefield 6 was met with broad praise, especially for its flagship multiplayer mode. Exclusively on Steam, simultaneous player numbers surged to nearly 750,000. Nevertheless, regardless of its fanfare, a growing number of players are voicing discontent with several of the title's toughest challenges, which are necessary to obtain particular firearms.

Players have started resorting to tailored sessions set up using Battlefield Portal to finish these tasks, underscoring just how arduous these missions have become.

Comprehending BF6 Objectives

Tasks represent Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, different from the periodically changed everyday and weekly missions. The game includes four classes of assignments, but where most simply offer cosmetics and some tools, finishing the gun missions is the sole method of getting 12 of the 41 key firearms available in the game.

Several of these gated guns might eventually earn a place on rosters of the best guns in Battlefield 6.

Gamer Backlash on Reddit

Within Reddit, players are reasonably voicing their concerns about how hard and tedious several of these challenges are. A particular gamer pointed out one of the most egregious examples, needed to obtain the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Neutralize 300 foes with LMGs
  • Inflict 10,000 hipfire damage with LMGs

"This mission is so atrocious and totally unreasonable, I want to scream in frustration," is a quote that summarizes just how frustratingly difficult these tasks are.

The suppression feature in the game is weaker than it's ever been in the series, so it lacks nearly as many advantages in battle as it had in previous games. It only registers as suppression if you fail to hit several consecutive shots.

At the same time, firing an LMG without aiming is extremely unreliable and functions solely at extremely close range, which is not usually a position you prefer to be. That player also noted the contradiction in the SMG challenge, needed to obtain the SCW-10, which demands eliminations when scoped in, when that challenge would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and vice versa.

Another Ridiculously Tough Task

One more community participant brought attention to a further incredibly demanding challenge, within the long-range weapon type to access the PSR:

  • Get 150 headshot kills over 200m with sniper rifles

This is tough enough on its own, but there's one more key thing to consider: most Battlefield 6 maps fail to facilitate combat at such a long range.

There's a healthy variety of map sizes, but since there are only nine battlegrounds in the game right now, it restricts you to playing New Sobek City, a particular valley environment, and perhaps a classic map if you're lucky if you want to snipe from a significant distance.

The Alternative Method

There is a workaround though: the portal. The custom game creator is a tool that allows you to make custom game modes on the battleground of your choice, featuring computer-controlled players. This means you can exploit the mechanics… but it isn't truly in line with the intended gameplay experience.

However, when tackling the tasks in a proper game appears to work against fun, since you must engage in such an unconventional way that harms both you and your squad, who can blame someone for grinding them out in a private match so teammates aren't hindered?

Upcoming Tweaks

It won't come as a surprise if some of these assignments are adjusted to be less difficult in the next few updates, because should they remain unchanged, a portion of the user base simply won't get their hands on the gated weapons.

Currently, the community continues to voice their opinions on these demanding battlefield assignments, expecting a more balanced overall gameplay in future updates.
