Australian law enforcement have suspended the search for a four-year-old child who has been lost in the wilderness for nearly twenty-one days, after additional efforts were unable to discover any signs of the boy.

The child was spotted playing outside his residence on a isolated sheep station near Yunta, about 300km from Adelaide, on late September.

His grandparent stepped away for about a short period before checking on him, only to realize the youngster gone, triggering one of the largest ground and aerial searches in South Australian history.

Latest Status

Police - who do not think there was wrongdoing - say they will carry on examining, but that the situation has become a "search for recovery".

Last week, police briefly wound down the hunt, only to resume it on this week alongside numerous military staff.
