The Simpsons Makes Its Debut in Psyonix's Hit Game: But It's Not the Vehicle Fans Are Hoping For
It was previously announced that the iconic animated series was teaming up with Fortnite, but that's not the only place where fans can immerse themselves in the universe of Springfield. The beloved show is also making its way to Rocket League, bringing along an in-game car skin that will also be compatible in the Fortnite universe. However, if gamers will actually want to use it is a different matter, as there's only one Simpsons car everyone is itching to drive, and this new offering isn't that one.
The Dream Vehicle
While many players would absolutely enjoy to compete while driving Homer's custom creation—the famously flawed car the patriarch built himself in the 1991 episode "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?"—that's not what players are receiving. We aren't even receiving the massive SUV, the heavy-duty vehicle showcased in the tenth season. Rather, players are getting the Simpsons' standard beat-up sedan, which has been in the family since 1989. Even though this specific vehicle has seen better days, it stands as an iconic element of the show. And for players who pay attention to Rocket League car hitboxes, the trusty sedan shares the same hitbox as the Dominus body type.

Additional Themed Cosmetics
But that's not the sole customization item from the series arriving in the game. This limited-time event will also include a series of objectives to earn additional rewards, all of which are inspired by the show. As detailed in a official announcement, the missions will require players to "get as many centers and clears as there are the show's seasons, gather boost canisters as if your GPS is set to The Simpsons’ house, and drive a distance worthy of picking up the ideal pastries!"
While the complete list of challenge rewards hasn't been disclosed, here is what has been confirmed up to this point:
- Blinky antenna topper
- Homer's Hedges player banner
- Garbage-themed wheels
- 20,000 XP per challenge
If the key art is a reliable guide, it seems fans will also get rims with a TV showing the show's title sequence, Kang and Kodos topper, a frosted doughnut trail, and rocket boosts themed to smoldering rubber and Krusty's famous restaurant.

The Rocket League collaboration coincides with the major The Simpsons invasion of Fortnite's island, which includes a completely new map of the fictional town, as well as a month-long seasonal progression system.
