Vinicius Jr Issues Sincere Sorry to Real Madrid Devotees
The forward has scored 5 goals in ten La Liga outings during the current campaign.
Los Merengues forward Vinicius Jr has apologised to supporters for his reaction when taken off in Sunday's intense El Clasico win.
Vinicius was taken off in the second half and expressed his frustration by walking immediately to the dressing room.
He subsequently came back to the dugout and, after his side's 2-1 victory, tried to confront Barça's Lamine Yamal during contentious after the game scenes.
"Today I want to express regret to all the Real Madrid fans for my reaction when I was taken off in the Clasico," the player wrote on social media.
"Just as I have said in person during the latest practice, I would like to say sorry once more to my colleagues, the organization, and the leadership.
"At times passion gets the better of me because I always want to win and assist my club. My winning mentality originates in the love I hold for this institution and each thing it symbolizes."
The player signed for Madrid from Brazil in 2018 for £38.7m and has scored over a century of strikes in 335 appearances.
But his prospects in the Madrid is far from certain with speculation in the past few months indicating that Real would think about letting the 25-year-old move on if they got a suitable offer.
When Vinicius was taken off on Sunday, TV coverage from network the service captured him saying: "It's always me! I'm departing the side! It's wiser if I leave, I'm going."
In his most recent statement on X, Vinicius commented: "I commit to keep striving constantly for the good of Real Madrid, as I have performed since the very beginning."
